It first began with a silk, long-sleeve top in a crimson red hue. The longer I picked through the thousands of pieces the more I found myself enthralled with the idea of new outfits put together with pieces from the 50′s and 60′s. A pair of shorts in that same bold crimson hue stuck out like a sore thumb. I walked over and plucked them from the line of denim shorts. This pair matched the top, in color and style, perfectly. Later on when I wore my all red ensemble, paired with six inch nude peep toe leather heels, I received so many compliments I decided I would go back for more.
I would spend hours and hours sifting through thrift stores to find pieces for myself. While I did find many unbelievable pieces, a great deal of these garments were not in my size. This is one negative of thrift stores, you may find a fantastic item but it will most likely be the only one of its kind. I then turned to Las Vegas vintage clothing sites. I found some sites for “vintage inspired” clothing but they didn’t satisfy my craving for authenticity. I decided to return to my first method and simply sieve aisles of clothing.
My findings would often consist of items that were too small, too short and/or too lush in fabric and design to pass up. This is how my inventory began. My trained eye also allowed me to find shoes from years past that were in lightly used to new condition and are sold out in stores as well as across the net. This is what you can expect to find here: exceptional quality clothing, shoes, accessories, vintage shoes, vintage accessories and vintage clothing. Las Vegas has some of the most interesting thrift stores around. I deeply enjoy going through rows and rows of everyday not-so-special clothing to find even a single item that is in great condition, beautiful, well-made and can make us reminisce about all of the best of vintage fashion.
The following are some of my favorite shots from movies and magazines. First up are couture gowns followed by vintage bathing suits, then vintage clothing in Las Vegas from the movie ‘Viva Las Vegas’. For those of you who have not already seen the movie ‘Viva Las Vegas’, you should definitely go rent it; if you have seen it, you should definitely go watch it again. This movie starring Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret, is from the 60′s and features some brightly hued vintage bathing suits and a lovely pink silk dress with a white collar that is sure to please. It is overall a great movie to watch for vintage clothing in Las Vegas during the 60′s. Lastly, you’ll find vintage circus performer’s costumes followed by modern day crafted Cirque Du Soleil costumes. Enjoy.
I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I get when another one of my items is sold. The entire process, beginning with finding these items to listing them and speaking with customers about them to the final step when an order comes through and I ship it out, is so enthralling to me. In the weeks to come I will be adding many more items and the list will only increase so I do hope you check back with us periodically. Lastly, I am also a wardrobe stylist so should you find an item that you’d like to know how to wear or if you simply have a styling questions please feel free to ask.
